NPHRC Researcher Represents Nepal on International Public Health Platforms Across Asia
The Nepal Public Health Research Consultancy (NPHRC) continues to strengthen its international presence through the active engagement of its researchers in regional and global public health platforms. Dr Alok Kafle, an early-career public health researcher affiliated with NPHRC, has been representing the institution across multiple international academic and research forums spanning Thailand, Vietnam, and broader Southeast Asia.
Through participation in regional research academies, collaborative workshops, and cross-country research initiatives, Dr Kafle has contributed to strengthening South–South and Asia–Pacific research partnerships, particularly in the areas of infectious diseases, tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases, and emerging applications of digital and AI-enabled public health tools. These engagements provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, methodological learning, and the development of collaborative research pipelines that directly benefit Nepal’s public health research ecosystem.
As an early-career researcher, Dr Kafle’s involvement in international platforms reflects NPHRC’s commitment to nurturing young scientific leadership and positioning Nepal as an active contributor—not merely a recipient—in global health research. His participation has facilitated dialogue with institutions such as regional universities, clinical research units, and innovation-focused research centres, helping to establish foundations for joint studies, training opportunities, and future grant collaborations.
Importantly, these international engagements extend beyond individual professional development. They contribute to institutional visibility for NPHRC, opening pathways for collaborative projects, technical capacity building, and the co-development of research agendas that address shared regional challenges, including tuberculosis control, health system strengthening, and equity-driven innovation in low- and middle-income settings.
NPHRC recognizes the importance of sustained international engagement in advancing evidence-based public health practice. By supporting early-career researchers like Dr Kafle to engage across borders, the institution reinforces its mission to build durable partnerships, enhance research quality, and ensure that Nepal remains actively connected to regional and global public health conversations.
